BREAKTHROUGH YOUR LIMITS AND BECOME A BETTER SHOOTER.
I was sweating and barely gripping onto my Mossberg 500, with my shaky iron sights set to the front door. It was a miracle I loaded my shells into the Mossberg.
The people on the other side were trying to kick it open. The door and door frame were loosening up. It was one or two kicks away from breaching.
But you’re probably wondering how I got here.
Let’s rewind back a little. My business finally flourished. The hard work and sacrifices paid off.
For years my family was budget conscious and never went on vacations. So I rewarded them because they stood by me through the hard times.
We renovated our home and got a nice Lexus ES. People around the neighbourhood noticed and we got many compliments. It wasn’t a rich neighbourhood; it was lower to middle class, so we stuck out more now.
Yes, I was naïve.
This attracted the wrong attention.
I owned two cars and had a single lot garage. That night my wife was staying over at her folks out in the countryside for the week, so we had an empty driveway.
My daughter stayed home to study for her exams. I stayed because I was a little protective, much to her chagrin.
That night we went to sleep early. Then around midnight I heard a loud repeated banging on our front door.
My daughter ran to my room in panic with tears streaming down her face. I calmed her down and called the cops. The operator said they don’t know when the police will arrive because they were under-manned that night.
I had my daughter barricade herself in a room.
I got my Mossberg 500 and tried to load it up. But I was shaking and even dropped a shell. But I finally got 1 in the pipe, and 5 in the tube.
I checked other points of entries, and they seem to be clear.
As I approached the front door, I could see the door and door frame loosening up. They were trying to brute force their way in.
I kneel and take cover near the front door. Then I set my Mossberg’s iron sights at the door.
I did everything by the book. I contacted law enforcement and my daughter is secure. There is Castle Doctrine in my state, so I can shoot to defend my family.
But as Mike Tyson famously said: “Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.”
My heart was pounding so hard, it drowned out the ambient sound and I felt light-headed. My hands shaking subsided a little, but now it was sweating. It made gripping my gun hard, so I couldn’t steady my aim.
I was having second thoughts. Should I go upstairs, grab my daughter and bolt out of the garage?
"EVERYONE HAS A PLAN UNTIL THEYGET PUNCHED IN THE MOUTH" - MIKE TYSON
Then I realized something.
Maybe they thought the house was empty with the missing car from the driving lot. My daughter and I haven’t gone outside for 2-3 days now.
So I flipped the lights on, and yelled at the front door.
“I got a loaded shotgun, f*** off now!” at the top of my lungs.
The banging STOPPED, and it sounded like they ran off. A minute later the police would arrive.
Still, I got lucky. Maybe my guess was right. Maybe they saw and heard the police sirens in the distance. It could be both.
Regardless, it could have ended worse. What if I was wrong, and the police didn’t show up? What if they didn’t care whether or not the house was empty?
What if they breached the door? Would I make the shot, or would I fumble and mess up?
And what was that anxious feeling I had? Why was my heart pounding, and my palms shaking and sweating?
But I understand now.
Buck Fever or performance Anxiety is due to adrenalinewhich kicks off fight-or-fight response in high tension situation.
Hunter’s call it Buck Fever. Competitive shooters or archers call it Performance Anxiety. The more scientific explanation? It’s your adrenaline which kicked off a fight-or-flight response. It happens in dangerous and unfamiliar situations.
New or less experienced shooters like me have it worse. Maybe you even felt something similar before and didn’t want to admit it. Don’t be ashamed of it like I was. It’s a completely natural response.
“But that doesn’t help me in a dangerous situation!” you say.
I didn’t say there isn’t a way around this! That’s why I told you that story.
So what is it?
First, I practiced more at the gun range. My daughter tagged along a few times, and it was a great way to bond. We became more comfortable with firearms, and our confidence grew.
Second, I invested in a few lessons with a retired SWAT veteran, and it was worth every penny. My favorite lessons were his breathing techniques to oxygenate the brain and slow your heart rate. Very useful in critical situations!
By happenstance, a seasoned Hunter attended one of these lessons. He mentioned “Buck Fever”, and how he dealt with it. That’s when he introduced me to Aimcise.
Aimcise supplementation helps you deal with the anxiety, and some more.
It’s the world’s first supplement stack tailored for shooters, by serious shooters.
Aimcise wants to help you shoot with confidence and accuracy.
But a WARNING. Aimcise’s products alone can’t substitute discipline, practice, and experience. If you skip these things, Aimcise won’t do much for you. However, When you do the work and use Aimcise, you will feel a difference, just like David Gore.
As a serious shooter, you know the improvement never ends. The lessons never stop.
We also understand time, and money is precious. There are many demands pulling at you from every direction. Such as your job, friends and family. That’s why every second you learn and practice matters.
You need efficiency.
And you need FOCUS and memory.
So we made ProFocus for you.
ProFocus improves alertness and memory so you can be a better shooter.
We don’t rely on stimulants like caffeine or anything “dirty” that leaves you jittery and crazy. There is no mid-day crash. You don’t have to worry about addiction and tolerance either (like caffeine). There’s no cycling on and off.
So what does this mean? Your motivation goes up, so you are less frustrated with hard lessons, exercises or hunts. You can stay on task as you learn and perform, and your mind doesn’t wander off on pointless tangents.
Have you ever noticed you do great during practice? Your shot is perfect when no one judges you?
But when it matters in real life, you’re nervous. You lose your cool and your shot is off. Now imagine half or more of this feeling gone. You perform closer to your “baseline”. Your true self.
We made RokSolid to calm your nerves, so you can shoot with less inhibition. Which means you shake considerably less, and can steady your weapon of choice.
And RokSolid does not make you drowsy either!
But being calm is not enough, there’s another element.
What happens when you stay calm but have heightened focus?
You execute all the right moves, remember the right things with incredible flow, do it under intense pressure and hit clutch shots. Athletes experience this too, and they call it “The Zone”.
Now imagine the violent home invasion again. They are about to breach the door. Now things are different. You can suppress your nerves and keep a steady aim. When the intruders breach, you won’t flinch, and you can aim and react accordingly.
This is the Aimcise edge. Leave nothing to chance. Preparation isn’t only about gear, it’s a mental and physical one too.
